About Jen

Twenty years of building, caring and leading, all at once.

Jen founded ISSOS International in 2006 with 51 students. She has grown it into a multi-million-pound business welcoming more than 600 teenagers from around 80 nationalities across three campuses: St Andrews, Cambridge and Yale. It runs on a core team of seven and more than 100 seasonal staff each summer.

Along the way she cared for her mum through Alzheimer’s and became a solo mum by choice. She has spoken at TEDx, at the United Nations and to more than 20 business audiences, was named top speaker on values marketing by CMA Marketing in 2013, and was a Scottish finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016.

Under her leadership ISSOS has won a Tourism Innovation and Development Award and been named among Scotland’s Top 100 companies. Jen is a Board Trustee of the University of St Andrews Students’ Association and of children’s charity Super Troop Scotland, an Ambassador and mentor for The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust, a Power of Youth Fellow and a Founders4Schools speaker.
